Resilient

Praise for “Resilient”

Dear Samantha,
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work with us.
It was such a joy to see you and your colleagues conspiring so successfully to be hopeful and positive in the face of all the nonsense, strife, and woe besetting all of us at present. With warmest best wishes.
— John Caird, Book Writer "Children of Eden"
Dear Samantha:
Thank you for writing and for sharing the video of your senior thesis. I shared your email with Mr. Schwartz, who asked me to send his best wishes - he looks forward to watching when he can. I know you didn’t send this to me, but I took the liberty of watching. I thought you did a fantastic job and it’s obvious the folks you included were passionate about the message. Let us choose love, indeed! We need that now more than ever.
— Michael Cole, Assistant to Stephen Schwartz, Music and Lyrics "Children of Eden"

Form.

Be sensitive to the form of your own body as well as your movement through space. Our technique frees our artistry.

Beauty.

Authenticity. Finding your truest sense of self.

Ease.

No matter how difficult the task or movement exercise, if the feeling of ease is present, we discover just how much energy it takes to accomplish the task.

A Sense of the Whole.

Truth, trust, creativity, wholeness, collaboration.

The Resilient Project

Honors Senior Thesis Capstone Project and Senior Recital

This project serves as a portfolio of the growth that I have made as a human, artist, and educator. The project will include a series of songs, dances, and spoken word that encapsulate my journey and adhere to the overall theme of creating meaningful stories through music, dance, and the arts, to develop a deeper understanding of humanity and to begin a conversation about how to progress our society and culture. I hope to empower the younger generation while enlightening the older generation by creating innovative work that inspires audiences to experience catharsis and rekindle the joy and happiness in their lives. I strive to create meaningful, progressive, universal work rooted in education and a cultural understanding of humanity—as it had been and is now. By fulfilling these truths, I can speak and connect to a broad audience, conversing, and collaborating with many.
